Van Reid Author

The greatest mystery concerning the State of Maine's Moosepath League is that its members involved themselves with so many adventures and contributed so significantly to the solutions of several celebrated riddles, and yet are relatively unknown to the public at large.

Now, in a series of novels, Van Reid does much to remedy the surprising anonymity of this grand society - particularly throwing light upon its origin in the inspirations and adventures of charter members Mr. Matthew Ephram, Mr. Christopher Eagleton, and Mr. Joseph Thump, their glorious chairman Mister Tobias Walton, and Mister Walton's aide-de-camp Sundry Moss.

What sets these tales apart from much of modern writing is the absolute good nature of their protagonists. The very elements that make life worth living — laughter and romance, as well as mystery and adventure — thrive harmoniously in the large hearted company of the Moosepath League.

Peter Loon is a novel about the "great proprietors" who owned vast tracts of land in Maine in the 1800's. Click here for a synopsis and a larger view of the cover.
